Prairieview Places to Serve

At Prairieview, we believe that serving is not only a great way to help the ministry of the church, but it also fulfills our calling to love others as we pursue becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus. A fully-devoted follower uses their skills and abilities to build up the body of Christ and participate in helping make other followers of Jesus. We find places to serve one another in the Church and pursue sharing the Gospel of Jesus and His teachings with others in our world.

Below is a list of volunteer roles that can be a great place to use your gifts to serve others in our church or through our church’s ministries. Some of these roles (marked with an *) come with higher expectations and responsibilities; living in alignment with the church’s biblical teachings as part of their witness and ministry.

Sunday Service Teams

*WORSHIP TEAM: Lead our congregation in worship by singing and/or playing an instrument with the band. Expect a short audition prior to serving on the team. TECH TEAM: Help make our worship gatherings seen and heard! Operate the sound system and projection computer at our services. Systems are setup to be easy to run! Training provided in advance along with weekly instructions. *WELCOME TEAM: Help create a welcoming environment for our guests on Sundays. Open doors, connect with visitors, hand out welcome packets, provide information about the church, give directions around the facility, hand out bulletins. *USHER: Assist with duties during the service such as passing the offering plates and other miscellaneous elements (as needed). *SCRIPTURE READER: Participate in the service by reading scripture from the pulpit. Passage is sent to you in advance to familiarize yourself with it prior to reading. *COMMUNION SERVER: Help with the distribution of the Communion elements during the worship service. Individuals or couples are welcome to participate. Servers are scheduled and instructions given in advance. FELLOWSHIP SERVING TEAMS: Help create a space for people to fellowship together. Each team has several people who serve one Sunday a month to provide a light lunch, serve food and drinks, and clean up afterwards.

Kids & Adult Ministries Teams

*NURSERY TEAM: Invest in the faith of our families by watching over kids up to age 3 in the nursery during the service. Serve approximately once every 4-6 weeks. Must complete a background check and training before serving. *PRESCHOOL TEAM: Invest in the faith of our families by helping lead our program for 3-4 year olds during the service. Serve approximately once every 4-6 weeks. Must complete a background check and training before serving. *KIDS CLUB LEADER: Invest in the faith of our kids by helping lead our Kids Club during the service. Serve approximately once every 4-6 weeks. Must complete a background check and training before serving. *ADULT STUDY LEADER: Invest in the faith of others by leading or facilitating an adult class, small group study, life group gathering, etc.

Church Property Teams

DECORATING TEAM: As a team, dream up and set out decorations throughout the facility (approximately 4 times per year). PROPERTIES MAINTENANCE TEAM: Help keep our facility operating well and safe by assisting with various maintenance projects as they arise. CLEANING CREW: Help keep our facility clean by vacuuming, wiping down glass doors and bathrooms, and refilling paper products. Cleaning instructions and products provided. Sign up for a 2-week stretch in the Lobby.

Other Ministry Teams

*CARE TEAM: Participate in providing care for those in our congregation. Includes following-up with new guests, checking-in with those who are home-bound or have prayer needs, and coordinating help as needs arise. *SAFETY TEAM: Help provide a safe and welcoming environment during our services. Take turns overseeing safety measures at each service and collaborate to help improve safety measures at Prairieview. Must complete a background check. FIVE LOAVES FOOD SHELF: Spend time once a month serving those in our local community by assisting clients in receiving their groceries at the food shelf in New Richmond. ADMINISTRATION TEAM: Help make our resources available to others by assisting with folding bulletins, mailings, etc (as needed).
